Cabinet Order for the Council for Science and Technology Policy (Cabinet Order No. 258 of 2000)
|
| 内閣は、内閣府設置法（平成十一年法律第八十九号）第三十六条の規定に基づき、この政令を制定する。
|
The Cabinet hereby enacts this Cabinet Order pursuant to the provision of Article 36 of the Act for Establishment of the Cabinet Office (Act No. 89 of 1999)

（専門委員）
|
(Expert Advisors)
|
| 第一条 内閣総理大臣は、専門の事項を調査させるため必要があるときは、総合科学技術会議（以下「会議」という。）の意見を聴いて、会議に専門委員を置くことができる。
|
Article 1 (1) The Prime Minister may, after hearing opinions of the Council for Science and Technology Policy (hereinafter referred to as the "Council"), assign expert advisors to the Council when it is necessary to have them investigate technical matters.
|
| 2 専門委員は、当該専門の事項に関し学識経験を有する者のうちから、内閣総理大臣が任命する。
|
(2) Expert advisors shall be appointed by the Prime Minister from among persons who have the relevant knowledge and experience in the technical matters.
|
| 3 専門委員は、その者の任命に係る当該専門の事項に関する調査が終了したときは、解任されるものとする。
|
(3) Expert advisors shall be dismissed when the investigation on the technical matters for which they were appointed has been completed.
|
| 4 専門委員は、非常勤とする。
|
(4) Expert advisors shall serve part-time.

| （専門調査会）
|
(Expert Panels)
|
| 第二条 会議は、その議決により、専門調査会を置くことができる。
|
Article 2 (1) The Council may establish an expert panel by resolution.
|
| 2 専門調査会に属すべき者は、専門委員のうちから、議長が指名する。ただし、議長は、必要があると認める場合は、専門調査会に属すべき者として議員を指名することができる。
|
(2) Persons to be assigned to an expert panel shall be designated by the chairperson of the Council from among expert advisors; provided, however, that the chairperson, when he/she finds it necessary, may designate a member of the Council as a person to be assigned to an expert panel.
|
| 3 専門調査会は、その設置に係る調査が終了したときは、廃止されるものとする。
|
(3) An expert panel shall be abolished when the investigation for which it was established has been completed.

| （庶務）
|
(Administrative Affairs)
|
| 第三条 会議の庶務は、内閣府本府に置かれる政策統括官が処理する。
|
Article 3 The administrative affairs of the Council shall be handled by the Director General for Policy Planning assigned in the Cabinet Office.
|
| （雑則）
|
(Miscellaneous Provision)
|
| 第四条 この政令に定めるもののほか、議事の手続その他会議の運営に関し必要な事項は、議長が会議に諮って定める。
|
Article 4 In addition to what is provided for in this Cabinet Order, the procedure for meetings and other necessary matters concerning the administration of the Council shall be determined by the chairperson, in consultation with the Council.

Supplementary Provision
|
| この政令は、内閣法の一部を改正する法律（平成十一年法律第八十八号）の施行の日（平成十三年一月六日）から施行する。
|
This Cabinet Order shall come into effect as from the date of enforcement of the Act for Partial Revision of the Cabinet Act (Act No. 88 of 1999) (January 6, 2001).
